Abstract
Introduction: The risk of facial palsy for pregnant women is higher than for nonpregnant women. Most cases occur in the third trimester and the immediate postpartum period. Unilateral facial palsy is a commonly seen mononeuropathy. In traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), the physiopathology of BP is external Wind-Cold attacking the channels of the face.
The Purpose of this study is to demonstrate that women in post partum period had more propensity to Bells palsy . The author wants to demonstrate what the physician need to orientate the patient to prevent the formation of this disease in post partum.
Methods;
trought one case report, of a 38 years old women who had cesaren section in on november 14th 2020. She wake up in the next day with the face completely desviated to the left side and cannot close her eyelid in the right eye. She seached for Western medicine physician that orientate her to intake corticosteroids. She went to the author´s clinic and told the doctor that asked to turn on the fan on top of her because she was felling much hot in her body during the pregnancy and after the partum. The treatment consisted in Chinese dietary counseling , auricular and sistemic acupuncture. It was orientate to restart to intake the homeopathies and crystal based medications that was recommended to her ( she did chakras energies measurement one year ago that demonstrated that all her chakras were in the lowest level of energy and she was having problems to have her baby –infertility ).
Results:
After the first acupuncture session, her face improved very well ( 50 percent ) ( she can smile and move the tongue, close her right eyelid better, and the desviation was reduced) . She also was orientate to avoit raw foods, cold water and walk barefoot and dry the hair after washing it and avoid to go outside her home during the guard period ( for a period of 40 days).
Conclusion:
Women in the post partum period has more propensity to develop bell´s palsy because they lost very much Blood and other fluids during the child-birth and usually loose much energy in ths process weaking the body and had more propensity to the invasion of Cold and Wind. generation in this form, bell´s palsy symptoms.
Biography
Huang Wei Ling, born in Taiwan, raised and graduated in medicine in Brazil, specialist in infectious and parasitic diseases, a General Practitioner and Parenteral and Enteral Medical Nutrition Therapist.
Once in charge of the Hospital Infection Control Service of the City of Franca’s General Hospital, she was responsible for the control of all prescribed antimicrobial medication and received an award for the best paper presented at the Brazilian Hospital Infection Control Congress in 1998.
Since 1997, she has been presenting her work worldwide, working with the approach and treatment of all diseases of all systems of the human body in a holistic way, with treatment guided through the teachings of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Hippocrates.
